Hose Taps

Hose taps are attached to sides of homes and commercial buildings. The hose tap outlets have standard BSP threads that can connect to garden hoses, vacuum breakers and other threaded accessories when in use. The hose tap sizing is classified based on the water inlet (the side that screws into the wall) BSP thread size in either 15mm (1/2") or 20mm (3/4"). In plumbing terminology and trade references, they are commonly refereed to as 15mm and 20mm taps. The hose tap outlet thread is always one size larger than the inlet thread size. A 15mm tap will have a 15mm inlet and a 20mm outlet thread. A 20mm tap will have a 20mm inlet and a 25mm outlet thread. The aforementioned sizes are all in BSP terms, not physical thread diameter measurements. Refer to The article "BSP Thread Size Explained" link in the website header.

Standard hose taps use a jumper valve internal mechanism in its top assembly with a T handle. This top assembly can be taken off and the jumper valves are replaceable during a service for a leaking tap. Some anti vandal designs feature a removable T handle as a key in order to prevent unauthorized water usages. Another category of hose taps use an internal ball valve design without any jumper valves. The advantage is easier quarter turn operation, but at the expenses of non-serviceability in long term.

All hose taps in the store are made of Watermark approved DR Brass and some models feature a chrome, nickle, lilac or polished finish. Some rare niche models are offered by All Plumbing Online store too such as gland packed, full glad packed and lugged taps.
