AVG ECV25/700 25mm 1" 700kPa Commercial ECV Expansion Control Valve
Overview
AVG ECV25/700 25mm (1") 700 kPa ECV Expansion Control Valve. Australian Watermark approved and in accordance with Australian standard AS1357.1 under Licence No. 2639 and meets AS4020, drinkable water standard.
The AVG ECV valve works in conjunction with a matching PTR valve of the same color code (The ECV valve pressure rating is lower than the matching PTR valve pressure rating) to regulate the pressure in the hot water systems. The water in the water tank expands during heating cycle when heated and this expansion causes excessive pressures. The ECV valve can relieve this pressure via dripping water out in a controlled manner. Because the ECV is connected to the cold water feed line in most installations, it acts as an energy saving device letting out only cold water (instead of hot water by PTR valve in plumbing installations where the ECV is absent).
The AVG ECV valve fits perfectly with mainstream solar, electric and gas storage water heaters such as Rheem, Vulcan, Rinnal, Dux, Aquamax, Thermann, Apricus and Solahart.(Check out my store for other options)
Please note this AVG ECV Valve in 25mm 1" thread size with high 132kW rating is commonly used for commercial hot water services where the plumbing code requires this rating and sizing.
Technical Details
- Silicone rubber auxiliary fail-safe for if main relief valve becomes blocked
- Allows water to drip from ECV drain line at a rate of 3 - 6% of the total volume during heating cycles to control water pressure
